Urgent Patient News

In order to minimise health risks to our patients and staff, we are currently cancelling any routine check-ups. We are still open for emergency appointments such as pain, swelling, bleeding or abscesses. For other problems such as broken teeth, lost fillings & lost crowns with no pain, please contact us; at the moment as treatment is still quite limited we will be able to offer an assessment of the problem and plan for future treatment.

In the case that you experience any of the above, please email us at info@banburydentalsurgery.co.uk, with your name, date of birth and contact number. If calling the practice on 01295 273112, please call between 9am- 5pm Monday - Friday, or leave us a message. Somebody will be in contact with you to assess and arrange an appointment.

Due to the corona virus outbreak we are requesting that all patients that have recently experienced a new persistent cough or have a current temperature (of 37.8 degrees centigrade or higher), to NOT attend the practice.

All patients being booked in will be required to answer covid-19 screening questions before their appointment, as well as upon arrival to the practice. Payment for all appointments and treatment we request is done by card and contactless payment where possible.

DENTAL IMPLANTS

If you have a missing tooth or teeth, dental implants may be recommended instead of having the conventional crown and bridgework or dentures.

THE BENEFITS

∗ Restore the mouth as closely as possible to its natural state.

∗ Increase comfort by eliminating loose fitting dentures and partials.

∗ Preserve facial structure by virtually stopping the deterioration of the jaw.

∗ Make a more natural smile improving appearance and self confidence.

ADVANTAGES

∗ Dental implants look, feel and function like a natural tooth and can be cleaned just like a natural tooth.

∗ They do not involve cutting down adjacent teeth and the preservation of bone provide better long term aesthetics.

∗ Inferior tooth supported bridges can suffer from decay if the cement washes out. An implant overcomes this problem thanks to the natural bone growth which embeds around the dental implants.

HOW IT'S DONE

1.  A gentle surgical procedure is used to replace the root with the implant.

2.  The implant is left for some months to allow the bone to form an ultra strong bond to the implant.

3.  Finally, an artificial tooth is custom made to ensure that the implant is the ideal colour, shape and size..

4.  Your dental implant replaces the tooth root and provides a stable foundation for a replacement crown. The bone forms a biological bond with the new dental implant giving your new crown the same stable foundation as a natural tooth.
